You chose your EHR for the organization you were then. Since that day you have added providers, sites, and service lines. Your payer mix moved. Value-based contracts arrived. Interoperability expectations changed underneath you. The platform, its configuration, and the workflows around it may not have kept pace.

Fit erodes quietly, one workaround at a time, and almost nobody measures the gap. Then something forces the question: a renewal, a provider revolt, a failed report, a vendor announcement. By then the review is a scramble, run on somebody else’s calendar, and the answer has more to do with pressure than with evidence.

If we were choosing a system today, knowing what we know now, would we choose this one?
