MTS analysts recently presented <a href="https://vimeo.com/567124932">an overview</a> of the exciting new enhancements, features, and functionality of the NextGen Enterprise Spring 2021 release. This latest version of NextGen will help you comply with the 21st Century Cures Act, improve interoperability, and simplify and refine the patient experience.

Here are some of the key highlights of what’s new in NextGen’s latest KBM release:
<h4>ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD (EHR) – Enhancements to NextGen Enterprise improve provider usability and patient experience</h4>
NextGen has updated interoperability capabilities to support compliance with information-blocking regulations. In addition, the 6.2021 release meets the 2015 Edition Cures Update Certification which is required for all eligible clinicians participating in CMS programs.

<h4>Additional EHR enhancements include:</h4>
<ul>
 	<li>Medication Module Updates</li>
 	<li>New Enhanced WPF Intake and SOAP templates to help streamline data collection and documentation processes</li>
 	<li>Care Guideline Updates</li>
 	<li>Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) Enhancements to simplify test and prescription orders</li>

<h4>A new integrated Patient Experience Platform (PxP)</h4>
The NextGen Patient Experience Platform (PxP) replaces the former Medfusion and comes fully integrated with this new release. NextGen has designed its new PxP to increase efficiency, provide better patient access, and improve patient engagement. Through the platform, patients can get 24-hour access to their medical records, schedule appointments (and check in before their visit), renew prescriptions, pay bills, and securely email their clinicians online.

All existing legacy NextGen Patient Portal clients will need to update to the PxP Portal as part of the 6.2021.1 upgrade. We know it can be a challenge to get your patients to engage with your practice via the portal. At MTS we have a keen interest in making sure all aspects of your operation run as efficiently as possible. With our Practice-Centered Care approach, we can help you plan and coordinate the transition to PxP with training for your staff to help with an optimized and effective implementation of this next iteration.

<h4>NextGen® Mobile advancements</h4>
Enhancements in the mobile application allow you to view dictations from Mobile on SOAP, manage tasks, and use a new speech recognition engine. Now, any data added in Mobile dictation will display in the appropriate fields on the applicable template.

<h4>PRACTICE MANAGEMENT – Enhancements to NextGen Enterprise improve workflows and payment tracking</h4>
With the release of 6.2021.1 NextGen has included new, user-friendly workflow improvements that allow for autoflow updates, and new preferences to improve functionality.
<ul>
 	<li>New practice preferences and upgraded templates to help medical professionals spend less time struggling with nonclinical work and more time working with and helping patients</li>
 	<li>Demographic enhancements</li>
 	<li>Group scheduling to help manage linked groups of patients for batch registration and appointment scheduling</li>
 	<li>Patient Experience Platform (PXP) Integration</li>
</ul>

<h4>Enhancements to improve billing and reimbursements</h4>
NextGen has introduced three new payment options on the new PxP portal now included with its 6.2021.1 release (Pay Bill, Pay Now, Practice Portal &amp; Precheck Payments) and has implemented updates to all claim types and new ways to track payment discrepancies.

<h4>New Patient Cost Estimation feature</h4>
This is a completely new feature – the tool enables users to calculate patient cost-sharing with this built-in estimator.

MTS’ Director of Sales <strong>Mike Spencer,</strong> who was in Charlotte, NC, earlier this month to attend NextGen®’s annual Partners Conference, accepted the award on behalf of our team.
