Healthcare IT Partnerships: Revenue-Sharing Opportunities Add Value

Healthcare organizations depend on fast, reliable, and secure access to the business and health data and applications that let them serve patients. They need to make sure their providers and staff can use the technology efficiently, that their business is protected from rising security threats, and that their systems meet strict regulatory compliance requirements.

But when providers don’t know where to find those kinds of IT services, that’s when they turn to trusted connections.

If you’re an association, network, or other organization that offers professional services to these providers, there’s a good chance you’ve been asked for an IT company recommendation. Your healthcare clients turn to you for guidance and referrals for everything from 24/7 IT helpdesk support to help with long-term IT planning and implementation support. In response, you might even have thought about adding IT services to your own portfolio so you can meet clients’ growing needs. But developing and maintaining a comprehensive IT services offering in today’s complex market is no easy—or inexpensive—task.

Similarly, if you provide healthcare cloud-based technologies or applications, you may be looking for a hosting partner who has the same commitment you do to providing reliable, secure, compliant, and managed systems for your clients.

Our IT expertise is a perfect complement to your services

Med Tech Solutions (MTS) is known for our practice-centered IT services that are designed to meet the specific needs of healthcare organizations. But we also partner with organizations like yours: associations, networks, and other companies that offer professional services or cloud-based technologies to healthcare providers. We quickly and affordably take IT worries off your plate so you can focus on your unique value-added services.

Who we partner with:

  • Provider networks who need a consistent IT infrastructure and support resource for every location
  • Healthcare associations who want to offer specially priced IT services for members
  • Revenue cycle management (RCM) providers looking for white-labeled IT revenue opportunities
  • Accounting and consulting groups who want to offer IT services to healthcare clients without the overhead
  • Private equity and management organizations who need a repeatable IT infrastructure for their healthcare portfolios
  • Healthcare software providers who need secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud hosting

Increasingly, organizations like yours are turning to strategic IT partnerships to meet client needs, as well as making sure your own organization is profitable and successful. Outsourcing to an IT partner lets you grow your services without the additional stress and cost of hiring IT network, application, and support professionals; building out and maintaining expensive data centers; and keeping up with complex security compliance regulations. And we offer flexible pricing and contract options to match your business needs, from white-labeling to revenue-sharing options.

White-label example

Cedar Gate Technologies (formerly Citra Health Solutions) helps payers, providers, employers, and administrative services organizations excel at value-based care. This performance-management company offers white-labeled MTS services to its provider and payer clients.

Hosted on Med Tech Solutions’ high-performance and HITRUST CSF-certified cloud infrastructure, the partnership offers comprehensive enterprise-level healthcare IT services for Cedar Gate customers. Those include private cloud hosting as well as IT services for security and compliance, EHR and practice management optimization, and 24/7 IT helpdesk support.

Reseller partnership example

OptumCare—a care delivery organization (CDO) that supports 250 providers across 116 independent physician association (IPA) practices in its greater Los Angeles-area network—has seen dramatic results in its partnership with Med Tech Solutions.

Armando Besné, former senior manager of CIS at OptumCare, says, “Cost is always something that’s in the back of our mind, but along with cost, because we’re reselling this product, performance is a really big issue for us.”

When Besné joined OptumCare in 2016, its cloud hosting vendor frustrated providers, staff, and patients with slow and unstable connections. “When I came onboard, I was asked to look at the overall performance and figure out ways to make the environment not only faster but more stable, at a similar or minimal increase in cost, to provide a better product to our providers,” he explains.

Besné and his team considered taking on the capital and staffing costs to operate its own cloud hosting environment, and also researched the top public and private cloud vendors. That included MTS, who already had a long-term relationship with OptumCare, providing its AppCare services to support and optimize providers’ electronic health records (EHRs). Besné soon saw the advantages of moving OptumCare’s hosting requirements to the MTSCloud as well.

Since moving its EHR hosting, optimization, and support services to MTS, the network of more than 100 practices has seen significant performance and efficiency improvements and significantly reduced costs. The partnership has helped boost OptumCare’s competitiveness and ability to provide high-value services for its clients.

Results include:

  • Reduced hosting and support costs by $250,000 per year help drive OptumCare’s competitiveness with enhanced client services.
  • Updated technologies significantly improve network performance, provider satisfaction, and overall efficiency.
  • Med Tech Solution’s HITRUST certification eases security concerns and OptumCare’s ability to help providers meet HIPAA compliance and security requirements.
  • The MTS security and performance dashboard provides real-time view of all systems, giving OptumCare proactive monitoring and the ability to plan for growth.
  • Fast, reliable EHR access supports telehealth initiatives and improves patient satisfaction.
